  1. Use a soft cloth: When cleaning sterling silver, it's important to use a soft, non-abrasive cloth. You can use a microfiber cloth or a special jewelry cleaning cloth that's designed specifically for silver. Sunshine polishing cloths are available in the shop! Just rub the cloth on the tarnished silver and watch it shine up. The cloth will get “dirty” with time, it will be usable for a long time, the cloth with turn black with use.

  2. Avoid harsh chemicals: Avoid using harsh chemicals or cleaners on your sterling silver jewelry, as they can damage the metal. Instead, use a gentle cleaning solution like mild soap and water.

  3. Soak the jewelry: If your sterling silver jewelry is really tarnished, you can soak it in a solution of warm water and mild soap. Let it sit for a few minutes, and then gently scrub the jewelry with a soft brush or cloth.

  4. Use Tarn-X: A cleaning solution that can be found at the grocery store. Be sure to wear gloves, follow the directions on the bottle and NEVER EVER dip stones in the solution. This can ruin a soft stone!

  5. Dry thoroughly: After cleaning your sterling silver jewelry, make sure to dry it thoroughly with a soft cloth. Avoid using a hair dryer or any other heat source, as this can cause the silver to warp or lose its shape.

  6. Store properly: To prevent your sterling silver jewelry from tarnishing, store it in a cool, dry place. You can also keep it in a jewelry box or pouch to protect it from scratches and other damage.

With these simple tips, you can keep your sterling silver jewelry looking shiny and new for years to come. Happy cleaning!
